Final presentation Report

This report details Sultan Alqubaisi , ( H00247456 – CLZ ) in C001 at 11:30 am, & his presentation on the subject of human trafficking.

Sultan’s presentation was about human trafficking and how this affects society. In his presentation Sultan explained the causes and consequences of human trafficking. He provided some facts about human trafficking and illustrated this with a list of countries that have the highest level of human trafficking. Sultan explained “Concerning traffickers, human trafficking brings high and quick profits with few start-up costs.” He added that “Punishment for the crime of human trafficking is lower than for trafficking drugs”.

Sultan’s appearance was very professional; he was confident if a bit nervous and well prepared. The audience could see clearly the huge effort that he put into his presentation.

Also he provided examples and solutions about human trafficking, such as in certain countries and areas human trafficking is legal. Furthermore, the slides were well organized and he covered all the points and used APA formatted references about human trafficking. That was evident because the ideas and the slideshow were represented in a clear and attractive way.

In terms of his body language he had constant eye contact with the audience and answered their questions properly.

At the end, my overall impression of Sultan’s presentation was a positive one; he designed and delivered his message to the audience in a highly communicative way. I also think that the presentation was highly effective and very competent.

Reflection Report

Presentation Report

Hammad Alkouri ( ID: H00251328) he was presenting his trip to Switzerland and Germany Date : 7/5/2013 in C001 classroom.

This summary report is going to clarify Hammads’ performance in his presentation. Frist the presentation in general was very good; he used his photos when he was traveling and included a video.

Hammad had a good starting introduction about what he was going to speak about; also he was confident because he came prepared. Hammad was standing beside the front screen showing the places he visited and sharing his feelings. He didn’t use note cards and he didn’t read from the slides; also he was speaking loudly and clearly. Hammad introduced some facts about Switzerland such as what they are exporting and where you can enjoy your time if you go there. Also he provided slides with maps explaining Switzerland’s strategic position in Europe. Then he moved towards Germany and mentioned some places he liked and advised us to visit them. Hammad answered every question with confidence and he was happy answering all of the questions. My overall view about Hammad’s presentation: I think he did great and his body language was showing that he was nervous but that is normal. I wish him all the best.

Reflection

Reflection paper

Reflecting what I experienced from the meeting and what is my role in the meeting. The group members were, I was the chairman, Khalfan the secretary; Saeed and Hamad were the two participants. It was a great opportunity to be a chairman of the meeting; we as a group went through the agenda smoothly. Our meeting was talking about Emiratization and how we can raise the employment in the private sector. I started the meeting by welcoming all the group members.  Also I was impressed by the group participation about our issue and I think that my group is very creative; they provided me with viable solutions and ideas. I could manage to control the meeting and give chances to everyone to participate. In fact all the group members shared their vision and experience through all parts of the agenda.  We tried to get the best solution for Emiratization. Privatizing was the best solution in my opinion and we all agreed on that, which is the privatizing some of the government sectors into the private sector. In the end I thanked again everyone and closed the meeting appropriately.

Time of meeting: 11:00
VENUE: C001
Group members:
Chair: Mohammed Awadh
Secretary: Khalfan AlMuhairi
Participant: Saeed & hamed

Agenda:
Emiratization.
Government sector/ Private sector.
Work experience.
Youth forum.
Internship in private sector.
Career fairs.
Reducing benefits in G.S.
Privatization .

The chairman Mohamed Awadh opened the meeting at 11:35

1. Emiratization:
Khalfan said that Emitatization is a good Idea to help local people to work in the local sector and it’s an idea invented by the government ten years ago to hire the possible number of citizens people to work in the private sector.

2.Government sector / private sector:
Khalfan explained the difference between the private sector and the public sector; the government sector follows the rules of the government, but the private sector has less commitment to rules.
Khalfan kept saying the government sector provides its workers with high salaries and security in work unlike the private sector, which has low salaries and no stability.

3.Youth forum:
Mohamed asked what are the solutions to apply the theory of Emiratization?
Hamed said that the first step HCT should take is graduate students with experience and that will happen by a lot of experience courses and opening a youth forum like Mubadla, to motivate students to get involved in the private sector.

4.Internship in the private sector:
Hamed continued the second solution that we will discuss which is the internship in the private sector and that needs companies from the private sector to sign an agreement with HCT for scholarships with the students to guide training and assign students to work in the company concerned. Khalfan added that’s a way to get the right experience to have the ability to work in the company concerned to achieve perfection in work. Also Mohamed said that to start this idea HCT should include a course for developing experience and qualities of teamwork and individuality.

5.Career fairs:
Saeed talked about a solution, which is a career fair. HCT should organize career fairs including more from the private sector than from the government sector; also to introduce the students to the private sector is benefits and duties.

6.Reduce the benefits of the government sector:
Saeed also added that government should reduce the benefits of their newly signed up employees to equal them with the private sector employees like the insurance and the retirement salary.
Mohammed argued that we can’t equal the two sectors together because there is a big difference between them.
Saeed then said it’s only a fact to change people’s idea of the private sector.
Mr. Hedley also said the new contract needs to be more realistic.

7. Privatization:
Khalfan mentioned a solution which all the group considered the best solution that is privatization. Privatization means to change a public sector to a private sector. For example, Abu Dhabi police had privatized its accidents delineation section to a company called SAAD.
Mr. Hedley confirmed that privatization would solve more problems, as it had in the U.K.

In conclusion:
1. Convincing people to be enroll in the private sector.
2. The government sector follows the rules of the government, the private sector has less commitment to rules.

3. HCT should provide youth forums to the students.

4. Private sector companies should offer internship to current students.
5. HCT needs to organize career fairs introducing the private sector.

      6. Try to equate the government sector and the private sector.

       7. Privatize some of the public sector companies
